What is the Azmoney?

With the personal Azmoney.co.uk, help for people with disabilities can be granted in a new form. Instead of a contribution in kind, e.g. B. through a help organized for you by a service, you receive an amount of money with which you can organize and "buy" your own individual support services. However, it is not an additional benefit. If you receive benefits from several rehabilitation providers, these can be combined into a cross-provider personal budget.

Is the personal Azmoney an option for you?

The personal Azmoney can be granted to you if you have a disability or are at risk of disability and need support in participating in community life or in working life. In addition, benefits from health insurances, long-term care funds, pension insurance, accident insurance, social assistance and child and youth welfare are within budget.

Why does a AZmoney make sense for you?

The responsible rehabilitation provider usually grants you specific help if necessary. B. places an order with a service and pays for it. You only have a limited say in the scope and form of help. With help in the form of a personal budget, you can negotiate and commission your help yourself with the amount of Azmoney made available to you. You can use the Azmoney to finance services outside of the usual offers if they serve to participate in life in society. If you do not need the full amount of money in a month, you can spend it appropriately later. With a cross-agency personal budget, you receive the services of the various agencies from a single source.

What can you spend the personal budget on?

For a personal Azmoney. Services from the following areas under consideration:

  • Assisted living
  • freetime and sports
  • Culture and events
  • Music and art
  • communication
  • Health promotion
  • maintenance
  • Job
  • education
  • mobility
  • Early intervention

Other services are also possible. However, they must be suitable to promote your participation in life in society.

What is your personal budget?

Your individual need for help should be covered with the personal budget. This is determined by the goals that are to be achieved with the aid. The amount of the benefits granted before the application for the personal budget is the upper limit for the personal budget. In a help planning discussion you have the opportunity to explain which help and support measures you need and how you want to organize them yourself. On this basis, you conclude a target agreement with the provider. This agreement also stipulates whether and how you have to prove the intended use. You will then receive a benefit notification from the rehabilitation provider and then the monthly personal budget in advance on your account.

Where can you apply for the personal money and what is the procedure for social assistance budgets?

You can apply for the personal budget from the (commissioned) rehabilitation agency responsible for you. This includes:

  • Social assistance provider
  • Carrier of youth welfare
  • Federal agency for work
  • Statutory health insurance
  • Statutory pension insurance
  • Statutory accident insurance
  • care insurance
  • Integration office
  • War Victims Welfare Agency

If you live in Bielefeld and need social assistance benefits - especially for integration assistance - please contact the city of Bielefeld or the outpatient social service that you may wish to use. If assistance for assisted living comes into consideration, your application will be discussed in a assistance plan conference. You will have the opportunity to attend the meeting with your help planner from the selected service and explain your request. Representatives of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe are also present at the meeting, as this usually covers the costs of the personal budget.
If you receive benefits from several providers, they must agree who will pay you the cross-provider personal budget. Before you apply, you should get detailed advice.

If you want to apply for a personal budget for inpatient or semi-inpatient services (such as home costs, services in workshops for people with disabilities) and are under 65 years of age, you can also contact the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association directly. The same applies to assisted outpatient living of all ages.
The application can also be made by parents or legal guardians.
