The opening and closing dates to plan the Kedarnath Yatra have been announced by the official website. According to reliable sources the temple will open on the 25th April 22023. The temple will be closed on 14th November 2023. The Kedarnath temple lies in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is placed at an altitudinal range of 3,583 meters. One of the holiest river Mandakini flows near the temple monument. It is said that the temple’s existence was not mentioned in the epic Mahabharata. Skanda Purana which shows the existence of the temple for the first time. Kedarnath Yatra has been practiced by the pilgrims for more than a decade. The journey focuses on the purification of the soul by washing away all the sins ,by receiving the blessings of Lord Shiva. Kedarnath Yatra Package itinerary specifies that the Kedarnath Yatra begins from the base camp of Gaurikund. The trek is more than 18 km in distance ,and ends when the pilgrims reach the Kedarnath temple. It is mentioned that the temple was constructed by the Pandavas. They played a very hero role in the epic Mahabharata. They were the sons of Kunti Devi ,who fought against the Kauravas,who belonged to the same clan. Pandavas mass murdered all the Kauravas regaining the kingdom of Hastinapur. Lord Shiva who was aware of the sins committed by them,decided to reject their plea for salvation. He hid in Guptkashi disguised as Nandi in order to avoid Pandavas. But Pandavas were persistent in their search,and as a result they found Lord Shiva. They succeeded in the search mission but were unable to please ,as he disappeared into the earth's surface. The parts of the Lord Shiva emerged at 5 different spots called Panch Kedar. . Pandavas built temples at these locations and all of them are dedicated to Lord Shiva . They built Kedarnath temple where the hump appeared. They constructed the Tungnath temple at the site where the arms appeared. They constructed the Rudranath temple at a place where the face emerged . They built the Madhyamaheshwar temple at the place where the stomach of the bull appeared. According to sources Pandavas performed penance at the Kedarnath temple,and found the path to salvation.
Kedarnath Yatra Registration
Kedarnath Yatra registration is the main step while planning the trip. The registration process is completed from the UCC DMB that is the Uttarakhand Kedarnath Devasthanam Management Board. You have to follow certain steps to the Kedarnath Yatra. First thing you have to do is ,visit the official website . there is an option in the homepage to apply for registration. Click on the registration link,and provide all the basic details like route,date,name and others. There will come an option to upload a passport sized photograph of the pilgrim registering. Last thing you have to do is click on the submit option that appears. Now the registration process is completed. Pilgrims booking Kedarnath Yatra Package do not have to worry because the registration process is done by the travel agency. Once the registration process is completed ,pilgrims need to carry a hard copy . Pilgrims can also go for offline registration processes. As there are 16 portals for the Chota Char Dham entrances,where they do the registration process. Registration process is compulsory for everyone visiting the Kedarnath temple. Pilgrims who fail to bring the passes,will not be allowed to the entrances.
