In an interview with the podcast "Pardon My Take," Minshew tells a story he'd previously only told a handful of people. He reveals that back in college, he once attempted to break his hand by smashing it with a Zach Duke Jersey hammer. Your initial reaction would be to ask why, but there's a somewhat good reason behind it.
His plan was togain a medical redshirt year, which would give him another year of eligibility. If that all sounds very confusing to you, we'll let Minshew explain it.

"Here's a story, the only group of people I've ever told was the Washington State football team before this last year and it was just about, 'What would you do to be able to play more football? .. His plan failed, and Minshew said he "was pi sed" about not being able to do it. He walked around with a "swollen-a s hand" for a while, and had to come up with an excuse to Carlos Baerga Jersey the coach. Instead of telling him the truth, Minshew told the coach he closed his hand on a car door.
Minshew also said his attempt was on his throwing hand and said,"It's a lot harder than you think."
He finished his season at East Carolina before using theNCAA's graduate transfer rules to go play at Washington State. He played Yan Gomes Jersey well in Pullman, was drafted in the sixth round and picked up his first career NFL win Thursday night against the Titans. Who knows where his career would be now if he was able to actually break his hand with a hammer.
